Description

Interns are becoming more and more important to our bank. As a student, our versatile applications will provide you with the opportunity to put your theoretically acquired knowledge into practice and to gain motivation for further study. We also benefit from your academic insight and your often “unobstructed” view of our procedures and products. An internship will also provide the opportunity for us to get to know one another, setting the foundation for your potential future career at our bank, either as a trainee or as a direct entry.
At Aareal, to ensure better coordination in the Human Resources department, we have appointed a permanent contact person, who is responsible for interns and the entire recruitment and employment process. There is usually also a person responsible for the training and placement of interns in each respective department.

Where can I do an internship?
Placements can in principle take place in all divisions of the bank (i.e. in the business divisions of international real estate finance, in the staff divisions in Wiesbaden and in our national and international offices). The training opportunities for each division are determined at the start of each year so that we can then offer the various internships in a targeted way.

How long should my internship last?
In order to organize the internship as effectively as possible for both parties, the placement period should be between 6 and 12 weeks. Long-term internships are also possible in specific cases.

Will I be paid during the internship?
Yes, you will receive an allowance; the amount of this allowance will depend on how far you have progressed with your studies. In the case of internships abroad, we will act in accordance with local conventions.

What will happen afterwards?
If you have a positive reference, you will be included in a pool after your internship. We will then keep in touch with you regularly and hold an annual meeting in order to maintain personal contact with you. If you request another internship, you will receive preferential treatment and, who knows, perhaps you will soon be an employee at Aareal Bank AG!

Requirements

You should be studying business studies, business information technology, business mathematics or law. As we are a global specialist bank, an international element is a requirement; i.e. in addition to German and English, you can speak another language or will learn one in the course of your studies. Alongside this, you have a keen interest in working together with colleagues from other cultures. We expect the transfer of knowledge from theory to practice to be of particular interest to you.
