Description

Nuon has one of the most reliable electricity networks in Europe. In order to stay at the top and improve our network further we need a continuing supply of talented and committed people wanting to specialise in specific areas of technology. Are you the technical specialist we're looking for?

Three-year programme
You will start the Technical Talents Programme in our Nuon Tecno department. This is our Netwerk Services division's engineering unit. During the first year you will increase your in-depth knowledge of your specialised field. Then you will start expanding your know-how. The aim is not only for you to become a specialist, but also a multi-disciplinary specialist. After three years you will be an independent consultant..

Nuon Tecno
Nuon Tecno advises on, designs and manages projects in the fields of energy generation, transport, distribution and storage and complex industrial installations. It is also involved in managing and maintaining installations and remedying disruptions.
Nuon Tecno is part of the Network Services division, where its activities include designing, installing, expanding, maintaining and operating electricity, gas, water, heating and cooling and public lighting infrastructure.

What does the Technical Talents Programme involve?

The programme takes three years to complete. After a general introduction, you'll spend the first year working in your specialised area, where you'll work on projects and increase your in-depth technical knowledge. You'll then spend 6 months in a related area.
After 18 months you and your mentor will discuss your progress and your specific interests. You'll spend the next 18 months increasing your knowledge in breadth and depth. After three years you can start working as an independent consultant.

Training
Presentation and communication skills, personal skills and technical training courses. During your traineeship you'll attend many different courses with your colleagues from the Technical Talents Pool. And that means developing a broad range of knowledge and skills.

Guidance

Throughout the Technical Talents Programme you'll have a permanent mentor, who will answer your questions, provide guidance and ensure you develop optimally, both in your specialised technical area as well as personally. You will also have a point of contact for each project. A key factor, however, will be your ability to take initiative yourself.

Applying for Technical Talents Programme

You can apply to join the Technical Talents Programme throughout the year. We select around 12 - 15 talents each year for this unique career opportunity.

Procedure

First we'll assess your application form, CV and reasons for wanting to join. You will then be interviewed by the relevant team leader regarding your specialised technical area as well as a senior consultant from the team. If you are invited for a second interview, it will be with the team leader's manager and an HR manager. This interview will focus on your competencies.

If you are successful, we will offer you a contract.

Requirements

Not everyone can be a Nuon Technical Talent. You must be entrepreneurial, practical, persuasive and able to demonstrate initiative. You have graduated from a university or institute of higher vocational education in one of the following subjects:
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Computer Sciences and Engineering
  • Power Engineering

  • Mechanical Engineering and Process Technology
