What we offer
In addition to a challenging job, development and career prospects, we
also recognise the importance of tangible rewards, as included in our
“Total Reward” concept. We also actively address your welfare and
wellbeing. Reward on what you deliver and how Our 'Total Reward' concept includes both intangible benefits such as
professional development and more tangible rewards such as a flexible
range of employment benefits dependant upon your position, role and in
some cases, your geographic location. Your performance is valued based equally on what you deliver and how
you behave. Fundamental to this principle are our reward and benefit
concepts, which are designed to attract and retain talented people in
the company. Throughout the company, we actively address your welfare
and wellbeing. Our internal job market provides numerous opportunities
to embark on new and exciting paths within StatoilHydro. Whether you
are starting afresh or changing jobs, we support you with housing and
travel arrangements. Our reward packages are competitive in the
markets in which we operate and include bonus and share savings schemes
in addition to base salary and other compensations. Pension plans and
insurance arrangements, sick leave, flexible work arrangements and paid
holiday are also important parts of our reward system. - Individual Reward levels:
Individual salary reflects the employee’s responsibilities, experience
and competence. It is evaluated yearly based on performance where
deliveries and behaviour are equally weighted.
- Bonus for good performance: Our people
are eligible for our corporate bonus or local bonus schemes competitive
in the relevant market. The corporate bonus is calculated yearly, based
on our financial performance relative to other large international oil
and gas companies.
- Variable pay schemes:
Our reward system includes annual variable pay schemes with
differentiated pay potential and a long-term incentives scheme for
executives in key specialist and administrative positions. Inclusion in
our variable pay scheme is on an individual “invitation only” basis.
- Share saving plan:
All employees have the opportunity to buy StatoilHydro shares.
Employees taking part in StatoilHydro’s share saving plan will receive
bonus shares. Employees receive one bonus share for every one bought.
Welfare We believe that the ability to balance work and non-work commitments is
key to attracting and retaining motivated and highly skilled employees.
To support this we have a range of flexible working policies covering
part-time work, working from home and variable working hours, which can
be utilised to meet the needs of our unique businesses and our diverse
workforce.
The welfare of our people is important to us and we
offer support to staff facing life changing events requiring time away
from work – comprehensive maternity, paternity and adoption policies in
line with local legislation, parental leave and both short- and
long-term career breaks. For parents, StatoilHydro has places for
children in kindergartens at the majority of its office locations.
The
right to request to work flexibility extends to all our people, with
all policies and application procedures easily accessible online to
employees and management. We also provide a telephone helpline for
individual queries. Our internal shared services solution won the first
prize in a competition with other shared services suppliers from across
the globe. Global business services (GBS) won the award for being the
most technologically advanced service supplier in the annual Shared
Services Week and Excellence Awards, presented in Prague in May 2007.
Many
employees are utilising our flexible working policies and are able to
balance their work and home lives effectively. Not only does this
benefit our people but enables business areas to better focus and manage business performance.
Wellbeing We support the health, safety and wellbeing of our people. We have a
wide range of welfare and recreation activities and opportunities.
These vary between locations and countries.
- Sporting activities
We offer a wide range of games and
sporting activities organised locally such as outdoor sports, cycling,
handball, bridge, football, skiing, etc. National tournaments are
arranged annually. We recognise the importance for mental
and physical time out. Locally organised yoga and relaxation sessions
are scheduled on a weekly basis during the work day. Throughout our
offices, we provide coffee facilities and social spaces where people
can meet, chat and network. StatoilHydro also has favourable agreements with local gyms and health clubs.
- Cultural activities
The
individual office location offers reduced price tickets to a selection
of cultural activities such as concerts, theatre shows, etc.
- StatoilHydro art collection
We
collect and display art from young and promising talents as well as
already established artists. You will be able to enjoy fine art and
architecture throughout our office locations. This is a stimulating and
important element in our daily lives that contributes to a sense of joy
and wellbeing and is an integrated part of our corporate culture.
- Cabins
StatoilHydro’s
cabins are offered to our people and their families throughout the
year. Cabins are located all around Norway, at popular skiing resorts
and seaside locations. Quite a few of the seaside cabins are equipped
with small boats for fishing.
Who we look for
Many of our new people are recruited straight from university.
Engineering and science subjects represent some of the disciplines that
we look for when recruiting. However, we also need graduates from a
wide range of educational backgrounds. Personal commitment, a
value-based performance-driven environment, and good leadership enable
us to meet our challenges and deliver results with the precision
required. We are a team, and as a team we understand the importance of
challenging and supporting each other.
We look for people who
identify with our values, believe integrity is part of who we are and
what we do, and want to be part of a company that appreciates high
performance. We select people who are committed to teamwork, who have
proven their ability to deliver, are open-minded and willing to learn.
Our
values, and health, safety and environment, and ethical requirements
are the core of all our activities. They drive our performance and
guide us in how we work together, and how we build relations with our
partners, customers, suppliers and the communities in which we operate.
We want to be your employer of choice - we want your talent!
