The Royal Bank of Scotland Group is one of the world's leading financial services providers and one of the oldest banks in the UK. Following the takeover of National Westminster Bank in 2000, the Group has continued to grow its business around the globe and, in addition to its strong UK presence, it has offices in Europe, the USA and Asia. By the end of 2002, it was the second largest bank in Europe and the fifth largest in the world by market capitalisation.

What we offer

Salary and Benefits
The Royal Bank of Scotland Group is recognised as having one of the most innovative and flexible reward programmes in the financial services sector. We believe that our approach really differentiates us from our competitors.

Called Total Reward, our approach focuses on the overall content and value of the pay and benefits package and how this supports the needs of our staff and the Group as a whole. Put another way, it's the value of everything staff get in return for working for us.

Learning and Development
The Group recognises that individual and Group success requires individuals to continue to develop themselves. In support of this, the Group offers or provides access to, a wide range of learning and development opportunities. Recognising that people learn in different ways a range of learning options has been created which enables individuals to decide how to study.

Work/Life Balance
We recognise that there is no one standard flexible working policy that will suit every individual and as a result we have developed a comprehensive package of flexible working options including:

Part-time working, job sharing, compressed working hours, term time working, home-working, short and long term employment break.

Business Class
Business Class is a two-year rotational programme that provides participants with a unique approach to building a career within Corporate Banking at the Royal Bank of Scotland.

Business Class Trainees will undertake a number of business placements and, upon satisfactory completion of the programme, will be employed in a permanent role in one of the Corporate Banking business areas. The programme offers individuals the chance to 'earn and learn' gaining valuable and structured work experience, whilst also studying for a professional qualification - the Applied Diploma in Corporate Banking.
