Activities

Energy companies provide an important basic need and take a central spot in society. Nuon is active throughout the energy chain, operates in a global market and takes account of the worldwide environment problem.   We are highly aware that our responsibility doesn’t end at our front door. So when it comes to issues like ‘climate’ and ‘society’, we very clearly take our own responsibility as well as implement important measures. That is why we help our customers to save as much energy as they can and get an optimum return on their energy use. At the same time, we conduct research and invest in ways to generate energy in the cleanest possible way. Therefore, we want to expand our energy production from natural sources like wind, sun, water, heat and cold as much as possible.

Guiding principles for business conduct

These four core values, together with our business directives, form our guiding principles for business conduct. Nuon is concerned with interested parties in the company. We have expanded these principles into business guidelines that apply to the company as a whole. These guidelines also relate to our social responsibility policy.

What we offer

Remuneration
Nuon pays salaries that exceed the market average. We offer excellent starting salaries, with opportunities for growth. You also receive an end-of-year payment and we have a profit-sharing scheme, which obviously depends on our results for the year. Nuon also has attractive bonus schemes for employees who perform exceptionally well.

Choosing compensation and benefits

Everyone has different compensation and benefit wishes. Nuon operates a cafeteria model so you can put your own package together. You may choose to buy or sell leave hours or purchase a bicycle in return for part of your end-of-year payment or holiday allowance. And there are many other ways of swapping benefits to tailor your package to your personal needs.

Discounts
We have agreements with ING Bank and Centraal Beheer that give Nuon employees discounts on financial products such as mortgages and insurance. You also get discounts on Nuon products such as gas, electricity and home security.

Life-course savings

Nuon has arranged a life-course savings scheme. This enables you to save amounts from your gross salary to help fund periods of unpaid leave.

Mobility

Mobility is important for Nuon. We refund employees' home-work travel and public transport costs in full. At our larger locations we even have hybrid pool cars for business travel.
